Relationships matter campaign - 2022
Lonely. Frustrated. Despondent.
When folks like Charlie come to Atlas Lincoln, they express these feelings as they navigate the process of re-integrating into society. Charlie faced problems in his life and he made some bad decisions. He lived through the consequences of those decisions. His challenge now is overcoming obstacles as he works his way back into the community.
Charlie struggles with a complex bureaucracy with its appointments, phone calls, seemingly endless paperwork. Atlas: Lincoln works with people like Charlie and walks by their side to ease the transition so they can become self-sufficient and regain independence.
How do your gifts make a difference to people like Charlie? As a first step, everyone who comes to Atlas for help is a mentee, not a client or case file number. Each mentee has inherent dignity and value as a person – just as Christ considers each of us as persons of worth.
An Atlas mentor helps decipher paperwork, schedule meetings, prepare the mentee for interviews – all while modeling Christ’s love. We walk side-by-side with every person we meet, showing them love, encouragement and support. By supporting Atlas with a gift, you are part of the healing process.
“This place and its people are warm and make me feel safe. Thank you for letting me calm down here.” -Charlie, an Atlas mentee.
You can be the final link in the chain of support for people like Charlie.
